We still wanted to hang out every Sunday, so now instead of playing Mario Party we play random party games. Most of the games we play are mini-game collections for the Wii and Gamecube, but we occasionally just play fun multiplayer games. This has been going on for weeks and it's certainly been an interesting experience.
I never really liked Mario Party very much, but when playing it with friends it's easy to see that it's a fun and competent franchise. I certainly can not say the same thing about a lot of the games we've played since Mario Party. I used to think I knew what a bad video games was, but I've been proven wrong. In theory mini-game collections should at least be fun to play. Sometimes they are, but other times they're so bad it's offensive. Sometimes it's funny how bad these games can be, but most of the time it's just really upsetting.
We've played such hot releases as:
Mary Kate and Ashley: Sweet 16: License to Drive (Gamecube)
Cook Wars (Wii)
Birthday Party Bash (Wii)
Squeeballs Party (Wii)
Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wii)
Pac-Man Party (Wii)
Six Flags Fun Park (Wii)
South Park: Chef's Luv Shack (N64)
Pac-Man Fever (Gamecube)
Guinness World Records: The Video Game (Wii)
Nickolodeon Party Blast (Gamecube)
Wii Party (Wii)
Nintendoland (Wii-U)
Now not all of these releases are terrible, but a few of them are downright cringe-worthy. Lucky for everyone who reads this I'm going to be making this a weekly feature. Every week on either Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday I will put up an account of the game I played with my friends during what I have now dubbed Party Game Sunday.
Please look forward to coming with my friends and I on this hilarious, but sometimes horrifying journey.
